The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, stressed the adoption of specialized academic programs in the field of integrity and fighting corruption and providing the necessary environment for training and education in cooperation with the Federal Integrity Commission. 

This came in his speech during the joint ceremony held at the headquarters of the Federal Integrity Commission to launch the awareness program with Iraqi universities in implementation of the contents of the National Strategy for Integrity and Anti-Corruption. 

The Minister of Education explained that educational institutions are keen on institutional integration with the Federal Integrity Commission in order to achieve their national goals, for which all Iraqis are responsible, pointing out at the same time that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is responsible for achieving the goals of its academic institutions and its educational mission and should not retreat under the influence of circumstances or reduce the quality of institutional performance so as not to allow the claw of corruption to leave its impact on the body of society. 

He added that this message represents an ethical and professional foundation that requires the university institution to further support, interact and cooperate with the Integrity Commission and to emphasize the adoption of specialized academic programs with a direct impact in dismantling the phenomenon of corruption and providing an environment for training and continuous education for all cadres so that we confront the scourge of corruption with the weapon of science and moral and national responsibility. 

For his part, the President of the Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, stressed that the Commission, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the regulatory bodies and state institutions bear the responsibility of facing the challenge posed by corruption and reducing its areas, expressing at the same time his thanks to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its interaction with the Federal Integrity Commission through programs, conferences, workshops and awareness seminars in the environment of Iraqi universities. 

In this context, the Ministry’s advisor, Dr. Alaa Abdel Hassan Attia, said that the indicators of positive cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Integrity Commission emerged from it a ministerial committee that included many leaders and experts from these two institutions, as well as the awareness program to spread the culture of integrity in universities, and that educational institutions are looking forward to strengthening this partnership, which would enhance the chances of success and achieve ambition in building the country and protecting its holy land.
