The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry held a workshop entitled (The effect of curcumin on infections occurring in the human body), in which both M. M. Radwan Ali Kati and M. M. Anwar Ali Moin lectured.

The workshop aimed to identify curcumin by identifying its chemical composition and the locations of this substance, in addition to identifying methods for its extraction, and also knowing the benefits of curcumin as an antioxidant and resistance to body infections and joint inflammations, as well as the symptoms of metabolism and insulin resistance.

The workshop recommended adhering to the permissible limit for curcumin intake, as it has risks for the kidneys, as it increases the risk of kidney stones and also works to inhibit iron absorption.
