A scientific workshop was held at the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University on strategies to combat terrorism and confront extremist ideology.
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kadhim Jaber Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the College of Dentistry held a scientific workshop entitled “Towards a Safe Society: Strategies to Combat Terrorism and Confront Extremist Ideology” as part of the Central Conference on Combating Intellectual Terrorism. Presented by Asst. Dr. Baidaa Saleh Hassan and Asst. Dr. Nour Jalawi Jabbar, the workshop aimed to raise participants’ awareness of the dangers of intellectual extremism to individuals and society, and to showcase successful experiences and models in combating intellectual extremism locally and globally.
The workshop recommended the need to encourage dialogue and embrace teaching participants how to distinguish between sound and extremist thought, to respect differences and other opinions, and to highlight the importance of moderation as a religious, humanitarian, and social value. It also called for national campaigns and educational courses to combat intellectual extremism.
