A workshop was held at the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University on radiographic imaging of sinus diseases.
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry held a workshop entitled “Radiographic Imaging of Sinus Diseases.” The workshop featured dental trainees Zahraa Fawaz, Huda Haider, Hawra Karim, and Rehab Qusay.
The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge of dentists and dental students about the importance and role of radiographic techniques in diagnosing sinus diseases by highlighting the relationship between the sinuses and oral and dental health, identifying the different types of sinus diseases, and ways to differentiate them radiographically.
The workshop recommended the adoption of radiographic imaging as an essential part of the clinical assessment in cases of pain in the upper jaw or posterior teeth, and distinguishing between dental and non-dental causes of sinus pain to avoid diagnostic errors and enhance cooperation between dentists, radiologists, and ENT specialists when clinical suspicions arise.
