A delegation of deans from dental colleges in Iraq visited the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University to discuss the establishment of a new department specializing in pediatric and preventive dentistry.

The College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University welcomed the delegation of deans from dental colleges across Iraq on Monday, June 29, 2026, to discuss the establishment of a new undergraduate (Bachelor’s degree) department in pediatric and preventive dentistry. The delegation was chaired by the Dean of the College of Dentistry at the University of Babylon and included the deans of the Colleges of Dentistry at the Universities of Diyala and Kufa.

They were received by the Dean of the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, and members of the college council.

The college presented a detailed overview of its existing infrastructure, qualified faculty, and proposed curriculum for the new department, highlighting its alignment with labor market demands and the actual need for these vital specializations. The committee commended the college’s efforts in providing appropriate academic and laboratory equipment. This step comes within the framework of the college’s plan to expand its academic specializations to meet students’ aspirations and the needs of the community, and to enhance the college’s role in supporting sustainable development and infrastructure in the country. This visit also marks a scientific step forward with the establishment of this branch to provide the best early intervention services for our dear children and to strengthen preventative measures for maintaining oral and dental health.
