A workshop was held at the College of Dentistry, Al-Qadisiyah University, on the physiological effects of drugs on the nervous system and oral health.<\/p>\n
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yassiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry organized a workshop entitled “The Physiological Effects of Drugs on the Nervous System and Oral Health.” The workshop was presented by dental intern Zain Al-Abidin Khalid and dental intern Zainab Razzaq Abdul.<\/p>\n
The workshop aimed to understand the effects of drugs on the nervous system, identify their impact on oral health, recognize oral signs associated with drug use, improve the healthcare staff’s ability to diagnose and treat these cases, and enhance professional awareness of how to deal with drug-using patients. The workshop recommended the necessity of adopting a specific oral examination for suspected drug use cases, strengthening cooperation between dentists and other medical specialties, providing continuous training for staff on dealing with this patient group, and supporting awareness programs about the effects of drugs on health.
