The College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University Holds a Scientific Workshop on Scientific Publishing<\/p>\n

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University, under the slogan “From Mesopotamia… Ideas Take Flight,” held a workshop as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week activities entitled “Scientific Publishing from A to Z: Choosing a Journal, Reviewing the Journal, and Calculating the Researcher’s H-Index.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Afrah Subaih Mohsen and Dr. [Name Missing]. The workshop aimed to equip participants with the skills to select appropriate scientific journals within the Scopus database. This was achieved by familiarizing them with database search mechanisms, analyzing journal scope and specialization, identifying classification quartiles (Q1\u2013Q4), utilizing bibliometric indicators such as CiteScore and SJR, and enhancing their skills in verifying the reliability of scientific journals. The workshop recommended adhering to plagiarism checks before submitting for publication to ensure compliance with academic integrity standards and reduce the similarity percentage to meet the requirements of scientific journals. It also emphasized relying on official sources to verify journal indexing and not solely on information from journal websites to avoid publishing in unaccredited journals. Furthermore, the workshop recommended the regular monitoring of researchers’ research indicators by updating their academic accounts and linking them to global databases.
