Under the patronage of the President of the University of Al-Qadisiyah, Prof. Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Faculty of Dentistry held a symposium entitled (The Social Effects of Drugs) in which Dr. Ali Sabri Shaker, Eng. Abdullah Jabbar Khashan, and Dr. Jaafar Kazem Abed lectured as director of the workshop 

The symposium aims to clarify the concept of drugs and their types, as well as the reasons why some drug users resort to those reasons that may be economic reasons and again may be social, as well as a statement of the effects of drugs on the family and then their effects on society in general, as well as a statement of the legislative treatment of the subject in Iraqi legislation 

The most important recommendations of the symposium are the need to educate the community on the serious effects of the spread of drugs, which would lead to the disintegration of society, and also recommends the need to treat drug addicts by activating the role of health institutions in a way that promotes the elimination of this dangerous phenomenon.
