A training course was held at the College of Dentistry entitled: (Urea examination).

   The course aimed to teach the recipient how to conduct a laboratory test for urea using special urea. The urea test is considered one of the important kidney tests that must be performed to reveal the health of the kidneys and their ability to perform their functions, as urea is produced in the liver after it breaks down the proteins in the food and then moves to the kidneys, which in turn gets rid of it by excreting it with the urine. If there is any kidney problem, it leads to the substance remaining in the body and its percentage in the blood rising.
   The course recommends the necessity of performing combined kidney tests because one confirms the health of the other, and thus the patient can ensure the health of his kidneys or vice versa, as the urea analysis helps diagnose some health conditions and determine the effectiveness of dialysis. One of the most important cases in which the doctor requests a kidney examination is: Change. In the amount of urine, feeling pain while urinating, swelling of the legs or face, feeling pain in the joints or bones, feeling tired all the time, noticing a change in the color of urine (blood). A lower than normal level of urea indicates that the cause is either malnutrition, liver failure, or fluid overload, while a higher level of urea indicates kidney failure, heart disease, urinary tract obstruction, gastrointestinal bleeding, high protein levels, or burn injuries. ———————————–
