Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry held a workshop entitled (Afforestation and its importance in preserving the environment), in which Assistant Agricultural Engineer Jinan Abd Abbas was present.

The workshop aimed to explain the role of afforestation on the environment, in addition to the contributions of afforestation to improving air quality, reducing soil erosion, and providing habitats for wildlife, while at the same time mitigating the effects of climate change.

The workshop recommended the necessity of educating various segments of society about agricultural awareness campaigns for the purpose of sustaining green spaces and reducing the phenomenon of desertification, and educating the population about the necessity of preserving what is known as the green belt because it represents an essential part of the vegetation cover, which would reduce the damage caused by the storms that have plagued the country, especially their frequent occurrence recently.
