A training course at the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University on the basics of examining academic journals from verifying commercial journals to publishing in Scopus containers
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Prof. Dr. Kazim Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry held a training course entitled (Basics of Examining Academic Journals: From Verifying Commercial Journals to Publishing in Scopus Containers) presented by Eng. Radwan Ali Katea
The course aimed to provide researchers with the necessary skills to identify fake or commercial journals, and how to search for accredited academic journals within Scopus containers, in addition to guidelines on how to publish in prestigious scientific journals
The course recommended the importance of choosing reliable academic journals to publish research, as this contributes to enhancing the quality of research and increasing the chances of citation. It is also recommended to avoid predatory journals by learning the criteria that help determine their reliability; it is important to use academic search tools such as Scopus and Google Scholar to find appropriate journals and to track recent research. In addition to developing academic writing skills, with a focus on organization and clarity to ensure that research is presented professionally
