Training Course at the College of Dentistry, University of Al-Qadisiyah, on Combating Intellectual Extremism
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Al-Qadisiyah, Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry held a training course titled “Combating Intellectual Extremism.” The course was led by Assist. Prof. Bidaya Saleh and Assist. Prof. Noor Jalawi Jabar.
The course aimed to identify the socio-economic and political factors that lead to the radicalization of individuals or groups, analyze the ideas and beliefs that promote extremism, and study the role of traditional media and social media in spreading and promoting extremist ideologies.
The course recommended the development of curricula to include values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and the rejection of violence. It also called for the creation of awareness programs targeting youth through media and social networks to inform them about the dangers of extremism and encourage cooperation between religious institutions of different faiths to combat extremist ideologies.
