A lecturer from the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University publishes a joint scientific research paper in a reputable international journal indexed in Scopus.
Mr. Zahraa Rahim Al-Zamili, a lecturer at the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University, and a group of co-authors, published a scientific paper titled “Gingivitis: Isolation and Identification of Causative Bacteria and Their Relationship to Obesity in Diwaniyah Governorate” in the Journal Bulletin of Stomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery.
The aim of the study was to verify the prevalence of bacterial isolates in patients with gingivitis and to study the relationship between gingivitis and obesity.
The study demonstrated a clear relationship between gingivitis and obesity. The results indicate that the prevalence of bacteria is higher in obese patients with gingivitis. These findings highlight the importance of considering obesity as a risk factor when managing and preventing gingivitis.
