Durar Kamel Jabbar

The workshop aimed to highlight the significant negative impact of smoking on the success of dental implants and the risk of implant failure due to reduced blood flow to the gums and bone. It also addressed the complications arising from smoking, such as nicotine and other toxins, delayed wound healing, and weakened immunity, which can lead to implant rejection. The workshop recommended quitting smoking before and after surgery and avoiding coffee and hot beverages for 24 to 72 hours post-implantation to prevent bleeding, wound irritation, and delayed gum healing. Patients should adhere to their dentist’s instructions and recommendations, including maintaining good oral hygiene, reducing daily cigarette consumption, and scheduling regular checkups.
