Workshop on the Safe Use of X-rays at the University of Al-Qadisiyah’s College of Dentistry

The Continuing Education Unit at the University of Al-Qadisiyah’s College of Dentistry held an awareness workshop titled “The Safe Use of X-rays and Radiation Protection Methods,” presented by trainee dentists Zahraa Hassan Jassim and Zainab Razzaq Abdullah.
The workshop aimed to raise dental students’ awareness regarding the importance of radiation safety, identify ways to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure, outline protection measures for patients, students, and medical staff, and reinforce adherence to safety protocols during radiographic imaging.
The workshop recommended strictly adhering to radiation safety principles during radiographic examinations, avoiding unnecessary radiation exposure, utilizing appropriate protective equipment for patients and staff, ensuring the safety and regular maintenance of X-ray equipment, and further promoting radiation safety awareness among dental students.
