Workshop at the University of Al-Qadisiyah’s College of Dentistry on Effective Patient Communication and Its Impact on Treatment Success

The Continuing Education Unit at the University of Al-Qadisiyah’s College of Dentistry held a workshop titled “Effective Patient Communication and Its Impact on Treatment Success,” presented by trainee dentists Hussein Ibrahim Kamel and Bayan Falah Fadel.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of effective patient communication, develop skills in listening and dialogue with patients, and explore ways to build patient trust in the dentist. It also sought to improve patient understanding of treatment plans and foster greater adherence to treatment.
Key recommendations included using clear, simple language when explaining treatments; actively listening to patients’ concerns and needs; treating patients with respect and composure; avoiding complex medical jargon without explanation; and maintaining continuous communication with the patient throughout the treatment process.
