Workshop at the University of Al-Qadisiyah’s College of Dentistry on Safe and Effective Medication Management in Dental Clinics

The Continuing Education Unit at the University of Al-Qadisiyah’s College of Dentistry held a workshop titled “Safe and Effective Medication Management in Dental Clinics,” presented by dentists Zainab Abdul-Baqi Abdul-Jalil and Haneen Hisham Abboudi.
The workshop aimed to enhance dentists’ knowledge regarding the principles of safe and effective medication management in clinical practice, focusing on the selection of appropriate medications, dosages, and administration methods tailored to the patient’s condition.
Recommendations from the workshop emphasized the importance of obtaining a comprehensive medical and medication history before prescribing drugs, adopting rational prescribing practices, avoiding unnecessary medication, and considering factors such as age, weight, chronic illnesses, and overall health status when determining dosages. It also highlighted the need to be vigilant regarding potential drug interactions and contraindications before prescribing any medication.
