Meeting of the Basic Sciences Department Faculty – College of Dentistry, University of Al-Qadisiyah (Academic Year 2026–2027)

The Basic Sciences Department held a meeting for its faculty members, chaired by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Baidaa Saleh. This session was part of a series of periodic meetings for the 2026–2027 academic year, aimed at discussing initiatives to enhance the quality of the educational process and elevate the academic and practical standards of the students.
The meeting also addressed the “IQ-Learn” smart education platform, exploring ways to integrate it into the teaching process. Emphasis was placed on maximizing its use to support e-learning and foster better communication between faculty and students, in line with modern developments in higher education.
Furthermore, the meeting underscored the importance of preparing lectures in accordance with the prescribed curriculum, ensuring they are uploaded on schedule. It was noted that the scientific material should be presented in a logical sequence and with clear content tailored to the students’ academic level. Faculty were reminded to strictly adhere to the approved syllabus and academic plan, ensuring all material is covered within the designated timeframe, while striving for consistency in instruction across different student sections. Additionally, the meeting stressed the necessity of adhering to scheduled lecture times and official working hours, as well as monitoring the attendance of both students and faculty in compliance with current regulations. Finally, the importance of identifying students who are struggling academically—diagnosing the underlying causes and providing them with appropriate academic support—was highlighted. Emphasis was placed on encouraging both faculty members and students to organize scientific activities, seminars, and workshops that contribute to academic advancement. Students are to be encouraged to engage in group activities, and there is a strong focus on fostering cooperation and coordination among the department’s faculty—particularly regarding courses with shared curricula—to ensure the smooth conduct of the educational process. Furthermore, it was stressed that all lectures, as well as scientific and educational activities, must be documented and submitted to the relevant authorities in accordance with established procedures.
In conclusion, the faculty members’ observations and proposals regarding the enhancement of the educational process and the resolution of obstacles affecting the department’s operations were heard and discussed.
