Standard Three: Waste, Treatment, and Recycling
The College of Dentistry attaches great importance to waste management, treatment, and recycling according to approved scientific and health standards, ensuring environmental protection and the safety of staff, students, and patients. The college sorts waste at source into biomedical, chemical, metal, plastic, and paper waste using color-coded containers. Hazardous waste is also treated in collaboration with specialized, licensed entities to ensure safe disposal in accordance with environmental standards.
The college seeks to promote the concept of sustainability by reducing the use of single-use materials, digitizing medical and administrative records, and encouraging the recycling of paper, plastic, and metals. These measures are part of the college’s commitment to implementing the principles of the circular economy and environmental responsibility, supporting sustainable development goals and academic excellence.
