Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry held a workshop entitled (Fats in the Blood), in which Dr. Durar Kamel Jabbar lectured.
The workshop aimed to identify lipids in the blood, or fats that are either free or bound to other molecules that are mostly transported in the protein capsule. The concentration of fats in the blood depends on entry and secretion from the intestines.
The workshop recommended that treating high blood fats is to eat olive oil and nuts to avoid weight gain, eat sufficient amounts of fiber in order to increase the feeling of fullness and lose weight, such as fresh fruits, vegetables and legumes, and eat whole grains instead of refined carbohydrates.
