Workshop at the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University on the legal effects of drugs
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry, held an awareness workshop entitled (The Legal Effects of Drugs), in which M.M. Nour Jalawi Jabbar and M.D. Bidaa Saleh
The workshop aimed to identify the penalties imposed on drug-related crimes (possession, use, trafficking) in addition to studying the impact of penalties on addicts and discussing the role of education and legal awareness in reducing the phenomenon of addiction (legal effects of drugs) addicts based on their health and social status
The workshop recommended the necessity of reviewing the laws to be more comprehensive, combining deterrence and treatment, and tightening penalties on drug dealers and criminal organizations, and giving judges flexibility in sentencing addicts based on their health and social status
