Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry held a workshop entitled “The Impact of High Temperatures on Oral and Dental Health.” Presented by Huda Haider, Zahraa Fawaz, Rehab Qusay, and Hawra Karim, the workshop aimed to enhance and raise the awareness of dentists about the health risks associated with high temperatures, both for human health in general and for oral and dental health in particular. The workshop focused on the negative effects that may affect treatment plans for patients in hot climate conditions.
The workshop recommended scheduling treatment appointments in the early morning or evening hours to avoid direct exposure to high temperatures, which can cause stress and negatively impact the patient’s overall health. It also recommended accurately documenting the patient’s medical history, with a focus on special cases such as the elderly or those with chronic diseases.
