A workshop was held at the College of Dentistry, Al-Qadisiyah University, on health and strategic security within the context of national security.

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yassiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry organized a workshop entitled “Health and Strategic Security within the Context of National Security.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturers Sara Hamid Yasser and Sara Awad.

The workshop aimed to clarify the concept of health security as a pillar of national security, its relationship to strategic security, and to analyze contemporary health threats (epidemics, pollution, pharmaceutical security, and food security) and their impact on national stability. It also aimed to raise awareness of the importance of strategic health planning within long-term national security plans. The workshop recommended integrating health security strategies into official national security plans and prioritizing their implementation, establishing a comprehensive national system for early warning and rapid response to health crises, and launching continuous national awareness campaigns on public health, prevention, and community behavior during crises.
