A scientific workshop was held at the College of Dentistry, Al-Qadisiyah University, on Law No. 18 of 2013 concerning the Protection of Physicians.

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Dentistry organized a scientific workshop entitled “Protection of Physicians According to Law No. 18 of 2013.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Noor Jalawi Jabbar.

The workshop aimed to familiarize physicians with their legal rights under Law No. 18 of 2013, clarify mechanisms for protection from assaults and tribal retaliation, and explain deterrent penalties for assailants. It also addressed the context of medical liability and how to ensure legal protection during work. Key recommendations included the necessity of activating legal offices in hospitals, installing warning signs regarding penalties, increasing security presence in critical care units, training physicians on the legal documentation of incidents, and ensuring that public rights are not compromised in cases of assault.
