A workshop on heat and cold in medical and sports therapy was held at the College of Dentistry, Al-Qadisiyah University.

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, a workshop was held at the College of Dentistry, Al-Qadisiyah University, under the slogan “From Mesopotamia… Ideas Take Flight.” The workshop, part of Global Leadership Week activities, was titled “Heat and Cold in Medical and Sports Therapy” and was presented by Assistant Lecturer Diyar Farhan Murad and Assistant Lecturer [Name Missing]. The workshop aimed to clarify the physical principles of heat and cold therapy and their effects on tissues in both the medical and sports fields. It also aimed to enable participants to differentiate between cases where heat or cold is clinically or practically preferable, as well as to develop skills in the safe application of heat and cold therapy, taking into account dosage, timing, and medical contraindications.

The workshop recommended adhering to approved medical protocols when using heat or cold therapy to avoid complications, providing regular training for healthcare and sports personnel on modern thermal physiotherapy techniques, and encouraging applied studies on the effectiveness of these methods in accelerating recovery and preventing sports injuries.
